day6 gravity concert fanaccount!! (9/28)

kisoapi had so much fun T___T i went with my friend who isn't as into day6 and was worried she wasn't having fun but she also really liked the concert so i'm so happy! we made it in right before the concert started hahaha... don't underestimate LA traffic... also the fact that parking was a struggle™... our seats were on the balcony to the really left side - like right next to the aisle - so the view of the stage was wonpil, brian, sungjin, half of dowoon on the drums, and jae only when he walked up to the very front of stage T___T i was looking forward to seeing jae perform because he was so excited for the entire night!! so i went back and forth between looking at the stage and the monitor busily haha!
overall thoughts in a miscellaneous order:
- i could see brian jumping/getting hyped up backstage from my seat in the beginning
- honestly if you ask me for the full set list i can't tell it to you LOL but the first song they played was best part! i was honestly sooo overwhelmed for some reason (best part isn't even one of my fave day6 songs!!) and i started tearing up when wonpil was singing lmao...
- i think the songs after that were sing me > i wish > SOMEHOW... EOJJEODABONI.... one of my favorite songs and my friend's favorite so we were so excited TT
- they had a cute introduction!! wonpil's english was so cute... truly like "world people so love..." dowoon was just so DOWOON i was amazed and sungjin was trying his best to speak english the entire night
- my friend @ brian's english: he's not very good. me: he studied in canada. my friend: OH... well he's not BAD...
- jae was so excited he didn't even know what he was saying HAHAHA i think some of his friends were also at the show because he said they were so going to make fun of him later
- honestly was surprised at their setlist! they played a lot of songs from remember us pt. 2 and the book of us: gravity (expected) but a good number of songs from daydream and the day and not that many from the everyday6 project... they played blood in a medley of covers/day6 song mashups (which ended in wonpil synth solo... dj pillie wonka) and they said they haven't played it in so long but brought it back because they knew fans wanted it HAHA... it was so good though
- colors - i need somebody - i wait: the feels saga... my soul transcended to another plane...
- THE SOLOS!! dowoon voice: the stage is burning!!
- at the first four songs i was totally agreeing with ellie's "brian is just a dude" idea but halfway-ish through the concert he really came alive and was performing and jumping around everywhere! ngl brian is h*t... you didn't hear this from me... the bass solo was [redacted]
- sungjin's performing style was a lot more calm than brian and jae! he's definitely the most stable live singer though, though he also doesn't change up the melody or add adlibs as much as the others. i don't know if it's because of the sound system but wonpil, brian, and jae sounded offkey in a lot of points in the songs (?) but sungjin was always on the right pitch HAHA
- i saw preacher wonpil. it was sooo funny because when he wasn't playing the keyboard/synth he had his hands on his waist which felt very much like a wonpil mannerism... he was also a lot more calm than brian and jae and drinking a lot of water even in the middle of songs (esp before his lines) so maybe his throat condition isn't that great rn
- everyone cheered extra loud every time dowoon sang HAHAHA i'm still amazed how dowoon is just so dowoon... like the others are a little different than how i expected them to be but dowoon is honestly the same...
- i couldn't see jae much so i don't have as many comments but his guitar solo!! he was headbanging so much HAHA but it was really good
- brian missed the last "'cause i'm ready" in how to love and i cracked up because he was laughing at himself in the adlib dsgsdkajsf is it a day6 concert if someone doesn't forget some of the lyrics/mess up!!
- they sang short snippets of songs! wonpil started off i'm serious and sungjin did man in a movie (that we did not really know the korean lyrics to i'm sorry day6) i think there might've been another one but i forgot...
- then they were like "oh, the concert's ending... but there's six encore songs!! :D" and i was like "is it really ending then!!" they went to change clothes while the vcr played (which i couldn't really follow because i couldn't see the full screen and the little monitors they had were so small that it was hard to read the subs)... it was them playing a bunch of games (and sucking at them LOL) and being "pulled by gravity" (my friend: if you wanted to feel gravity, can't you feel it every day like this??) and dowoon sat on the ground at the rest stop because he was tangled by their attached strings LMAO
- when they came back out they played cover > you were beautiful (TT) > congratulations >> i feel like the audience was the loudest singing along to congratulations!!
- they gave their ending ments! sungjin was like "i'm going to speak all in english! :D" halfway through: THIS IS HARD!! he also said "let's get... uh... [makes hand gestures] uh... OH, IT!!" which was my favorite part of the ment HAHA. jae was super happy to be home and happy to perform in LA TT
- their last 2 songs were dance dance and freely! it was a really fun way to end it TT the only problem was they lowered the music volume at random parts of the song for the audience to sing along but one of the parts they lowered it was brian's rap and i was like "this is the one part i don't know the rhythm to"... #failureasaday6fan
post-concert: i got to meet risa for 5-10 minutes!! it was so funny and awkward because we made prolonged eye contact before i was like "are you looking for someone?" LDSKGASKJFD I AM SORRY... i wish we had more time to talk TT risa is so sweet and cute! it was a great way to end the night TT ♡
overall, it was so much fun T___T my wallet is crying but it's ok!! honestly it was different than i expected in some ways... like i thought it'd be more of an ~artist experience~ because day6 is a band, i think i kind of expected more covers or special stages? but i enjoyed it nonetheless!! they really know how to perform and hype up the audience and it was really nice to hear my favorite songs from them (i need somebody and colors) live T____T
