>> disclaimer: i don't tend to delete scenes if i can help it because a. i'm lazy, b. i worked hard on the writing so i might as well include it!! unless it really is just a dead fish of a scene i will always find some way to use it!
>> i wrote this over thanksgiving break ? i think i told ellie about this idea that nayeon and brian get caught by dispatch and have to pretend to date two days before i started writing it on a whim!
>> the writing process was surprisingly easy and quick - i think i wrote half one day, the second half + posted it the next... i think the painlessness and fun (!!) of it all makes me think of this fic fondly

>> this is so funny i distinctly remember having a google doc of deleted scenes from this fic called "nysc misses" and when i opened it just now, it's half of the first scene that i actually used in the fic lksdjskdf
>> that said, it was so hard to start this fic! i really couldn't see the story taking form because i felt the opening wasn't gripping enough... i think the first scene took the longest and it was all i wrote the first day @@

>> i first was inspired by the lyrics of crj's fever "so i stole your bike and rode it out all night" and then that snowballed into the idea of person A who's bitter because she had a crush on B in high school but never felt like it was reciprocated > american suburbia > then i had to just crank out the fic
KING OF BAKING, KIM MINGYU
>> at the time of seokshine check-ins, this fic was about seokmin who works part-time at a diner and has a crush on his co-worker mingyu, who's really good at baking pies. i think i have 500 words of this version saved somewhere in my drafts
>> and then i started watching gbbo and i thought "WAIT THIS IS BETTER!!!"
>> i will never be writing 20k again, thank you very much! i think i called in sick a day for my part-time job [i know... i KNOW.......] because i pulled an all-nighter writing [again past the deadline]
>> not about the actual writing process, but i love that i had a conversation with shida 3 years after this fic was published debating the ending because a. i forgot where i ended my own fic, b. i write confusing hypothetical non-endings and then the actual ending right after

>> this fic was supposed to be 3k max!! why is it double that? i wish i knew!
>> i don't know why i was so into fake twins jjikseu & chaewon at this point of my life but it was enough to make it into this fic
>> i haven't reread this fic in a while so i'm looking at it now and i don't remember writing ANY of this... except i do remember coming up with this line: A Hyunjin without a Seungmin is like gamjatang without the soup, or Pororo without the helmet and goggles. It wouldn't be bad if you didn't know what these things were supposed to be like originally, but once you did, there was something universally wrong about the alterations. and i remember starting the summer break scene in a cafe while working with my friends because i wrote maybe half the scene before patting myself on the back and calling it quits for the day lkgajskf

>> i had a deleted first scene where jisun was lamenting over how her career had really gone down the drain while reading netizen comments, but it didn't have any impact, so there was no way to repurpose it into the actual fic!! though i did end up writing a different netizen comments scene
